On June 27, two Guelph Collegiate and Vocational Institute graduates received the first Lesley Irvine and Kent Martin Memorial Scholarships, named in remembrance of my Mum and Dad. The scholarship, which is supported by books sales, is award to students who have lost one or both parents and are pursuing further education, including the trades. Above: it was a pleasure to reconnect with GCVI Principal James Cako who helped me through the board of education process required to establish the scholarship.
